A few words about the breed
The Rhodesian Ridgeback originated in southern Africa. It is characterized by an elegant, harmonious and muscular physique. The coat is light wheaten to red wheaten and there is a symmetrical ridge of hair growing in the opposite direction down the middle of the back along the spine. It is a persistent and fast dog, yet possessed with a serene and balanced temperament.
The Rhodesian Ridgeback is an intuitive, intelligent dog that appreciates teamwork but can also be very opinionated and assertive. A special feature is the Ridgeback’s high sensitivity; a sixth sense for danger. This is not a kennel dog as he loves to be surrounded by his family and thrives on the contact.
The Rhodesian Ridgeback is renowned for his wisdom, other distinct features being his strength, courage, speed, loyalty and devotion.
